The Last Shall Be First

I've realized that I didn't fully think this experiment through. I'm postponing things indefinitely. Yes, before I post any actual content.

This is an experiment. I have another idea for a novel, but I'm afraid if I just try to work on it on my own it will end up like all my other aborted book-fetuses, going nowhere fast. I need accountability. I need someone forcing me to write. If November were close by I could use NaNoWriMo to guilt me into action, but it isn't, so I need something else. Something like a blog. If I promise regular updates and manage to get even one fan involved enough to complain about their absence... well, that will be sufficient motivation to keep me writing regardless of what happens. So this is what I'm doing, this is my experiment. An LJ novel.

I plan to update with a "chapter" each Monday and Friday. I use quotation marks because, while I plan to post actual chapters each update day, I reserve the right to post partial chapters in the event of an unexpected time crunch or an unexpectedly lengthy chapter. Hey, it's either that or stick figure webcomic filler.

Our story should begin this coming Monday, April 6th, 2009.
